Thanks for the welcome Cush! I would love to know the name of the book if you remember it. I did a search at amazon, but it only finds me books ABOUT the grateful dead, not novels where the story is about deadheads and the scene. I got this one from e-bay. And since the back reads that there should be more out there, I'd love to find them.

It's a "Stranger in a Strange Land"esque story. The main character's name is Kitaj I think. I'll keep digging, it'll come to me eventually. I have sustained a fair amount of legitimate as well as recreational brain damage... The data is still there, retrieving it gets a little sketchy though...

Good night again...

Bingo! I couldn't remember it, but I did find it! Title is: Smile on the Void by Stuart Gordon here's the link where I found it:

Like I said earlier the Grateful Dead played just a small part but it was a fun read...

Looks like it's out of print, but I did find used copies available at Amazon.

Cush! Thank you! I'm going to keep my eyes out for this. I read the summary, and this is something I'd be interested in. I'll put it on my wish list for E-bay's half.com, and get it for a steal then.
